BBC Bristol – January 28th to February 1st 2008

Circom Regional is again offering the opportunity for member stations to send a delegate to attend the Training the Trainers workshop in Bristol UK.

The ideal candidate would be a senior or experienced member of staff who wishes to become a trainer within your organisation. It can be a director or a journalist, a camera operator or an accountant.   In fact anyone who has good experience or skills and has the confidence to pass these onto others through training. It is also available to current trainers who wish to reassess or improve on their skills in the training environment.

First and foremost the training provides delegates with the skills to become a trainer.  The areas that are covered are:

* Introductions
* Type of learners
* Presentation
* Body Language
* Design of training modules and courses
* Delivery of training sessions
* Feedback sessions

The training takes place at the BBC SON&R centre in Bristol, UK, a state-of-the-art facility providing the perfect environment for training. Delegates will be expected to arrive in Bristol on Sunday 27th February and return home on Saturday 2nd January.

The workshop is conducted in English and all delegates will be expected to have a good working knowledge of the language.

The course is led by Simon Major, recognised one of the leading trainers for the BBC and within the UK.  The equivalent UK cost for a course of this kind is €2000.

The course is limited to 10 delegates and Circom’s policy is that each country applying will be allowed at least one place on the training.  In the event of more applications than places Circom reserves the right to decide on the allocation of places. Circom’s decision will be final.  In the event of less applicants than places then Circom may offer further places to countries who have already received a place.

Comments from 2007 course:  “The best training I have ever taken part in”.   “Simon, you are the best trainer ever”.   “Circom – more of this please”.   “It was one of the most inspiring weeks for me”.
